  • Online programs at UMass are among the best in the nation and are the top programs in New England. Bachelor's programs at UMass Amherst (#26), UMass Lowell (#30), and UMass Boston (#35) were ranked as the top three programs in New England, and were all among the top 40 nationally in U.S. News & World Report's Best Online Programs rankings.

UMass Amherst

• UMass Amherst is one of the best public universities in the nation, ranking No. 26 in the latest rankings from U.S. News & World Report.
• Sierra Magazine named UMass Amherst to its "Top 20 Coolest Schools," a list of the greenest colleges and universities in North America

UMass Boston

• The Princeton Review named UMass Boston to its "Best in the Northeast" list, highlighting institutions considered “academically outstanding and well worth consideration” in a college search.
• For the fifth year in a row, UMass Boston was ranked in the top tier of national universities by U.S. News & World Report.

UMass Dartmouth

• For the fourth consecutive year, UMass Dartmouth was ranked as a National University by U.S. News & World Report.
• UMass Dartmouth ranked in the top 3 percent on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll and was one of only 20 finalists for community service.

UMass Lowell

• UMass Lowell is one of the top 10 fast-growing public doctoral institutions in the nation, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education, and was ranked 176th among all universities in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
• UMass Lowell is ranked 29th in the nation for return on investment, and the mid-career salaries of its graduates are among the highest in New England at $105,000.

UMass Chan Medical School

• UMass Chan Medical School was ranked No. 1 in New England and No. 10 nationally for primary care education and No. 47 nationally for research by U.S. News & World Report.
• Ninety-seven percent of UMass Chan Medical School graduates were accepted to at least one of their choices of residency, a match rate that is consistently higher than rates at peer institutions.

UMass Law School

• UMass Law has the third-highest bar pass rate among law schools in Massachusetts, with a 82.6 percent pass rate for first-time test takers.
• The American Bar Association ranked UMass Law No. 1 in New England and No. 11 in the nation for the percent of graduates in full-time government or public interest-related jobs.
