UMass Boston

The Nursing BS is UMass Boston's traditional bachelor's (2.5–4 years of academic study) pre-licensure program for future nurses who aren't yet RN certified. You'll engage in rigorous academic work and a carefully designed plan of study with built-in support for your success. You'll also be mentored by world-renowned faculty who focus on improving equity and diversity. Our professors view nursing as a calling and not just a career, and they are committed to reducing healthcare disparities, improving quality of life, and informing health policy. You will also benefit immensely from clinical placements in Greater Boston’s finest health care institutions, such as Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Good Samaritan-Brockton, and the VA Medical Centers, among many others.
