The interdisciplinary graduate program in materials science and engineering was developed collaboratively between the College of Natural Science and the College of Engineering at UMass Amherst. The program prepares graduates to apply and integration of advanced science, computational techniques, and engineering principles to materials systems. Master's students may complete a thesis-based program or a non-thesis option.
