The Department of Linguistics offers a linguistics major, a minor, and eight interdisciplinary majors in which the study of linguistics forms a significant part of the curriculum. These are a combination of Linguistics and Anthropology, Chinese, German, Japanese, Philosophy, Portuguese, Psychology, or Spanish. The Linguistics & Japanese joint major includes some required courses that are unavailable on the UMass campus at present. Please see the Linguistics and Japanese requirements for details.
