UMass Chan

The Graduate Entry Pathway (GEP) is a direct entry program for non-nurses with a bachelor's degree in a field other than nursing, leading first to Registered Nurse (RN) licensure, then to a doctorate program. Upon completion of the GEP Program, nurses may begin their DNP coursework. The Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP) program at UMass Chan Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing can prepare you to be the great NP that is hard to find, difficult to part with & impossible to forget. Our program will help you to develop the necessary knowledge and skills that will prepare you to care for individuals from age 13 through older adulthood. Our curriculum is based on generalist training in primary care with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management across diverse settings and populations. Faculty will prepare you to provide high quality, cost-effective care that is evidence-based and inclusive with diversity and equality for all populations that are served by our program and our community. Your Doctor of Nursing Practice education will prepare you to be an active member in health policy and leadership as well as a strong advocate for those who need support. This knowledge, combined with your clinical rotations, will create a strong foundation as you prepare to sit for the AGPCNP certification exam administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
