Current Master of Science in Engineering Management (MSEM) students or Industrial Engineering (MSIEOR) and non-matriculating students with STEM undergraduate degrees may apply for the certificate program. By completing the courses associated with this certificate, STEM professionals will gain the full spectrum of data analytics and decision-making skills, including: • Descriptive Analytics: What happened? How can we best analyze, understand, and display the existing data? • Predictive Analytics: What will happen? How are our variables of interest dependent on the explanatory variables so that we can project into the future? • Prescriptive Analytics: What levers do we have to improve performance? How should they be modified to optimize the system? Sen. Doc. No. 23-097 Virtually all organizations can benefit from these skills to transform the vast amounts of data they collect into not only insight and information, but also specific decisions to improve the future performance of their systems. Projects and case studies within each of the courses will provide hands-on experience for students to develop the skills they will need in the field.
