UMass Boston Freshman Open House draws more than 1,700 visitors

UMass Boston's Division of Enrollment Management welcomed 753 students to campus this past Saturday, October 19 for Open House. These prospective Beacons were accompanied by 1,025 guests, including their parents, siblings, and friends — making a grand total of 1,778 visitors.

Representatives from across the university shared information about UMass Boston’s academics, student life, financial aid, athletics, housing opportunities, and the application process.

Faculty and staff from UMass Boston's 10 colleges greeted families and explained programs and curriculum, and current students were on hand to highlight our rich student life, showcasing our 100 student clubs and organizations and championship winning athletic teams.

Additionally, students and their families learned about study abroad programs, veterans’ services, and other support areas of the university. Bobby Beacon greeted guests and the university step team and student musical group performed.

The coordinated effort by many departments led to a successful event, giving future students a glimpse of our amazing campus.
