UMass Amherst's McCormack Department of Sport Management named World's Top Ranked Graduate Program

AMHERST, Mass. – The Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management graduate program - which includes an MS and an MBA/MS in sport management - has been ranked the number one postgraduate program in the world for 2019 by SportBusiness. The McCormack Department of Sport Management ranked second in both 2017 and 2018.

Rankings are based on surveys submitted by alumni who completed McCormack’s sport management graduate degrees in 2016 and have launched their careers. Through a separate, complementary survey, sport management faculty from around the world provide insight into how courses are perceived by industry experts - McCormack was ranked number one in this Professors’ Choice category.

“Earning the number one ranking is a tremendous honor and source of pride for our program and reflects the outstanding job done by our world-class faculty. Equally important, this recognition is a testament to the exceptional support of our alumni who serve as graduate student mentors and guest speakers, guide our students to job and internship opportunities, and contribute to the positive experience that’s now been validated by the SportBusiness survey,” said Steve McKelvey, graduate program director of the Mark H. McCormack Department of Sport Management.

Launched in 1996, SportBusiness is widely recognized as an essential resource, providing news, analysis, and timely industry data.
