This year's UMass For the Kids (FTK) Dance Marathon has recently been recognized for being in the top 10 colleges and universities for fundraising monetary growth by the Children's Miracle Network.
The FTK Dance Marathon raised over $280,000 for Baystate Children’s Hospital on Saturday, April 13 in the Mullins Center. That is almost $70,000 more than last year, adding to the $490,000 the event has raised over the past four years.
UMass FTK is a recognized student organization which hosts fundraising events through the year, culminating in the dance marathon. The program has existed on campus for 15 years and is one of the largest fundraisers for Baystate Children's Hospital.
More than 1,900 students, alumni and community members, who gathered donations prior to the event, danced for 12 consecutive hours.
23 Miracle Kids from Baystate Children's Hospital, the local Children's Miracle Network Hospital, also attended the event.
