President Meehan, UMass Foundation to host Inaugural State of the University address

BOSTON - University of Massachusetts President Marty Meehan and the UMass Foundation will host the Inaugural State of the University address on Monday, March 6 at 5 p.m. at the UMass Club.

During the address, President Meehan will recap UMass achievements, highlight the importance of UMass to the Commonwealth and share his vision for the future of the university.

Attendees will include students, faculty and staff from the five UMass campuses, elected officials and business and civic leaders. Gov. Charlie Baker, Lieutenant Gov. Karyn Polito, Senate President Stan Rosenberg and House Speaker Robert DeLeo are expected to attend.

The event will be streamed live on Massachusetts.edu, broadcast on Facebook Live at facebook.com/universityofmassachusetts and live tweeted from the UMass Twitter account using the hashtag #StateofUMass.
