Still time to donate to inaugural employee charitable giving campaign before it ends Nov.25
With one week to go, the first UMassMed Cares employee charitable giving campaign has already garnered nearly $120,000 in donations. The campaign runs through Wednesday, Nov. 25, so it’s not too late for UMass Medical School employees to support the programs and community organizations that matter to them.
Participants have options to support the North Quadrant Support Services for the Worcester Public Schools, a choice of four UMass Medical School Foundation funds and more than 1,000 prescreened nonprofits across the globe via the United Way of Central Massachusetts.
The top choices so far for giving encompass internal and external funding options:
- North Quadrant Support Services
- UMMS Research Fund
- Worcester County Food Bank (through the United Way)
- UMMS Diversity & Inclusion Fund
- UMMS COVID-19 Pandemic Research Fund
“The year 2020 is not a year of words and thoughts, it’s a year that needs us to give to those being left behind,” said Gregory Wolf, chief information officer, who has directed his donations to North Quadrant Support Services, the Worcester County Food Bank, AIDS Project Worcester and the American Civil Liberties Union.
“I am giving more than ever to UMassMed Cares because more people in Worcester County require school support and food assistance this year, and the pandemic has hit harder than expected,” said Scott Rogers, senior product owner for information technology. Rogers directed his donations to North Quadrant Support Services, Community Harvest Project and Camp Sunshine.
